The Millennium Field, which was bought by the villagers in 2000, is a valuable asset to the Village of Shabbington and is regularly used by children, families, dog walkers and nature lovers.
There are small areas of wildflower meadow around the perimeter and several bug hotels.
The Shabbington Nature Network continues to plan further improvements to support nature.
Due to its location, the field regularly floods, and the play equipment and the playing surface need continual maintenance.
The playground surface was renewed by the Parish Council in 2022. They hold responsibility for the upkeep of the playground.
Due to the success of a crowdfunding initiative in which the villagers generously donated money, they could also replace the goalposts.
