Bring and Buy Sale

28^th September 2024 Shabbington Hut

During the months of August and September we put the call out to the village to donate  good quality ladies clothes to fundraise for the new hut. We were amazed by the response and soon Jill’s spare bedroom was taken over by piles of clothes, bags of shoes and accessories.

We sorted them into new, hardly worn and high end labels and set up accounts on Vinted (an online market place).

For the remaining clothes, we held a bring and buy sale in late September in the hut. It took us a day to transform the hut into a stunning boutique!

On the night we had a steady stream of customers who delighted in the range and quality of clothes, shoes and accessories on offer, and the sales kept on coming –  helped by some glasses of fizz and some ace selling from the team. There was lots of laughter as folks tried on various outfits  – some more successful than others – and all agreed it had been a great evening.

We have raised over £700 so far for the new hut fund and have enough clothes to run similar events in Spring, Summer and Autumn next year.
