Shabbington Hut Update

Shabbington Village Community Trust are excited to announce that we intend to start demolishing our old Hut and replacing it with a new modern facility at the end of May, subject to obtaining planning permission.  We already have permission for a very similar Hut but have had to tweak the design.

Your Village Needs You

We will be sorry to see the old Hut go especially as it holds a special place in the memories of many in Shabbington.  It was built by the men of the village in 1928 and has been in use ever since.  Our new Hut will be bigger, warmer and a lot more modern!  In keeping with the ethos of its predecessor it is very much a community venture and in order to keep costs low we are asking for volunteers from the village to help with elements of the demolition and build.  This will require labouring work at the weekends but if you have particular skills it would also be great to hear from you.  All safety training will be given and high vis, hard hats, goggles etc. provided but we would be grateful if you could provide your own safety boots.

A big thank you to those of you who have already expressed an interest in getting involved.  It would be great to hear from others – Your Village Needs You.  Please get in touch via the website shabbingtonvct.co.uk or contact Sophy 07803239272
